How to Do a Dare

Doing a Dare is as simple as one, two, three...four!

1. Find your inner Dare
Trying to figure out what to do? Ask your friends and colleagues—what would they donate to see you do? Ask yourself—what are you afraid of, motivated by, love to do and would do more of? Consider your lifestyle: what are you willing to quit, change, or improve on? Still need ideas? Read our list of ’50 Dare Ideas’!

2. Announce your Dare
Register your Dare at adaretoremember.com. It’s simple, fast, and you can create your own easy-to-use fundraising page, which is kind of like a Facebook page. You can personalize it by uploading photos, importing your email contacts, and sending emails to your friends.

3. Network like crazy
Tell the people you know about your Dare (family, friends, colleagues at work, schoolmates) and send them the link to your personal fundraising page. And then think outside the obvious. Think about your book club, your sports team, your faith community, your neighbours, your parents’ friends, your extended family, your list of Facebook and Twitter friends. You can even spread your Dare further by contacting your local media.

4. Reach your fundraising goal and do your Dare
Reach your fundraising goal (whether it is $500, $1,000, or even $25,000)! Remind people what it’s for: you’re raising funds for community-based organizations working to turn the tide of AIDS. Blog or write about your Dare and tell your friends about your fundraising progress! Be creative and keep your sense of humour in your updates to people—they love to be involved and engaged! Remind people when your Dare is about to happen, and when you’ve completed it. Trust us. They’ll be inspired to donate!
