DARES

It’s time to put the AIDS pandemic back on the agenda!

There is an inspiring transformation taking place on the African continent, where community-based organizations are working to turn the tide of the AIDS pandemic. Grassroots organizations are standing together as leaders in their communities, breaking the stranglehold of silence and stigma, and providing essential health, educational and emotional support to people living with HIV and AIDS.

They can lead the way, but they cannot do it alone.

In the week leading up to World AIDS Day, dare to put AIDS back on the agenda in your classroom, in your club, in your school, in your community by participating in the World AIDS Day Dare to raise awareness and funds for these groundbreaking organizations.

There are so many ways you can dare! The key is to find a dare that excites your school and that will inspire your family, friends and community to sponsor you.

Here are some ideas:

  • Dare to wear red. A whole week. And not just a bracelet or a pin. Or socks that no one sees. Be boldly red.
  • Dare to connect. Stay at school all day and night. Design t-shirts, produce a video, create a piece of art, or whatever you come up with.
  • Dare to turn off your cell phone for a day or a week . The hardest dare of all!
